My standard route through northeast Pennsylvania for the majority of my driving career. Surely everyone has asked themselves at least once “what if I just kept driving?” It was a daily question for me so in April 2022 I did just that- I didn’t stop driving. Let’s back up though, because if leaving were that easy no one would ever stay where they are.
I’ve worked in the transportation industry for over 10 years. Anyone who’s had a hand in that pot knows the demands are high, the hours are long & all it wants is your soul. I decided I could use this to my advantage. Work with the energy instead of against it. Work the long hours, save up the OT & convert the ol’ SUV into a mini camper. Finally, after about 1 ½ years of saving & researching- I quit my job, cashed out my 401k & left ✌️
I’ve often been asked about how the “rear view mirror moment” felt. I didn’t have one. I don’t even remember what was on the radio. I just know I couldn’t wait to start this adventure with a fresh iced coffee in one hand & the wheel in my other. Like the great Avett Brothers once said, “When you run make sure you run to something not away from”.
