The Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit (LTBMU) is a large area encompassing all of the watershed that drains directly into Lake Tahoe, as well as a few other nearby areas. The LTBMU is a picturesque region, boasting pristine mountain scenery, snow-capped peaks, dense forests, crystal-clear alpine lakes and meadows, and sandy beaches.
